Special Guests Tour of Lumen Flats
We had the honor of hosting some special guests for a tour and overview of Lumen Flats.
The event covered the collaborative process behind Lumen Flats and the challenges our most vulnerable young adults face in finding an affordable place to live.
Lumen is a first-of-its-kind housing solution for young adults aging out of foster care. Paired with wraparound services like on-site DCS support, financial literacy classes, and stipends, Lumen Flats offers an environment that supports residents’ success and independence.
Working with our government and community partners allows us to raise awareness and drive meaningful solutions for young adults facing this critical transition, and we cannot thank our amazing partners enough. This is only the beginning for Lumen Flats, and we are committed to being a part of the solution.
Thank you to Coca-Cola Consolidated, Governor Bill Lee State of Tennessee, members of the Tennessee General Assembly, including Jack Johnson, Cameron Sexton, and Tre Hargett, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Mayor Glenn Jacobs, the Belmont University Innovation Lab, the Tennessee Department of Children's Services, TN Voices, Knoxville's Community Development Corporation, and the TN Governor’s Faith-Based and Community Initiative.
