Nourishing Our Lumen Flats Community
Six weeks ago, we launched an on-site food pantry at Lumen Flats, and it has been providing weekly food deliveries to our residents ever since.
Residents have a voice in what's stocked. They share feedback and request the items they need most, from shelf-stable staples to fresh produce and other nutritious options.
What we've heard back has been incredibly meaningful. Residents tell us that seeing food available on-site every day brings them both joy and a sense of security. Many of them are balancing one or more jobs alongside their education, so having food options right where they live takes one more worry off their plates.
None of this would be possible without the generosity of our employees, community members, and corporate sponsors. Thank you for showing up for these young adults and helping make Lumen Flats a place where they can truly thrive.

What an awesome day of bowling and fundraising at our annual Elevates Bowling Tournament! 💣
Our incredible team members and partners at Elmington were able to raise $6,952 in donations on the day, and a total of $74,413 in corporate sponsorship!
Special Guests tour Lumen Flats
We had the honor of hosting some special guests for a tour and overview of Lumen Flats.
The event covered the collaborative process behind Lumen Flats and the challenges our most vulnerable young adults face in finding an affordable place to live.
Lumen is a first-of-its-kind housing solution for young adults aging out of foster care. Paired with wraparound services like on-site DCS support, financial literacy classes, and stipends, Lumen Flats offers an environment that supports residents’ success and independence.

As a leader in affordable housing, we believe it is our duty to use our knowledge and resources to serve our most vulnerable communities, which is why we are so honored to have officially opened Lumen Flats in Knoxville, TN!
Lumen will offer stable housing for foster youth through 18 studio apartments, each with their own private bathroom and kitchenette. The community also features common living areas, a shared kitchen, and outdoor spaces for community growth and connection.
